Worked as a Registered Nurse in the ED during the cryptosporidium outbreak in Milwaukee.After seeing the effects of waterbourne illness firsthand,I became very interested in portable gravity powered water filters.I decided on the Big Berkey with 4 black elements for daily use,and the Berkey Light for camping and backup.Really like the simplicity of use,durability,appearance,and,of course,the water tastes great.I will not bad mouth any other filter system,but I will highly recommend the Berkey.I bought it for the protection,and I use it because I like how the water tastes!

This is Berkeys mid size stainless model. Was a bit large on the countertop. I think for my small family I could have got by with the smaller travel berkey. James Filter was the only place I found that really understood and could educate me on this product. I think the instructions on the PF-2 fluoride filter could have been better. I would definately come back.

I was expecting a lot from Berkey. But,WOW. This is a high quality filter. Very nice fit and finish, highly polished. Everything I have read about Berkey is true, very good water and a simple system to use.

I have been using my Big Berkey water filter for about a month now and I can tell a big difference in the taste of my water.
